Jag Sangha, Pharmaceutical Adviser, Community Pharmacy and Public Health, said; “We would like to encourage people to think of their local pharmacy first when they are feeling unwell.
“Pharmacy First means people won’t always need to visit the GP for a less serious illness but can still get expert, confidential advice and reassurance from a trained healthcare professional.
This also builds on the role of pharmacists as part of the multidisciplinary team in primary care, making the best use of their clinical skills.â€
“Most pharmacies have a private consultation room, appointments are not necessary and they are often close by GP surgeries, the high street, shopping centres and supermarkets so they’re easy to get toâ€
